Permaculture

We Love Mother Earth

This section provides various resources to learn about Permaculture, and our projects! Coined in the 1970s by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren, permaculture blends “permanent” with “agriculture” or “culture.” It describes a system for creating sustainable, self-sufficient habitats that work with nature, not against it. These Long-term systems replenish resources instead of depleting them. Originally about farming, permaculture now extends to energy, housing, economics, and community life.

At Kriya House we have cultivated a team of compassionate, mindful individuals who are capable of working together to cultivate community and be stewards of the land. Our team is capable of running a farm, taking care of animals, facilitating retreats, taking care of elderly, and running land-based businesses.

You can find more members of our community on the “About” page, but this is our founding team:

  • Chantae – farm and animal care expert, steward of soil and stock.
  • Ryan – greenhouse and mycology specialist, designing resilient systems.
  • Emmy – hostess, caregiver, and teacher, weaving people and purpose together.

Together we coordinate administration, education, food service, and land management—supported by a wider network of mechanics, builders, artists, and healing arts practitioners ready to join the fold.

Resources

The following links are resources we support and work alongside to make the world a better, more sustainable place rooted in good works!

Grow Wiser / Grassroots Farmers, founded by a beloved Kriya House member Chantae, this organization is focused on natural spirituality, regenerative agriculture, and local food resilience. Rooted in hands-on education and ecological stewardship, the project cultivates fruits, vegetables, flowers, and animal systems using sustainable, holistic methods, teaching people how to reconnect with the land, share knowledge, and build localized food systems that nourish both people and the planet.

Living Systems Institute is a nonprofit based in Golden, Colorado, dedicated to restoring ecological balance through education, hands-on action, and community empowerment. Kriya House’s Emmy works in their Re-Inhabit Gardeners Program training and assisting homeowners to transform conventional suburban yards into thriving permaculture systems. Through seasonal workshops, deep-mulch bed building, irrigation setup, carbon cycling education, and regenerative land care practices, participants learn to work with natural processes to build healthy soil, conserve water, grow abundant food, and create vibrant habitats right where they live.

Open Source Ecology is a global movement creating freely accessible, modular blueprints for sustainable living — from tractors to eco-homes — empowering communities to build resilient, regenerative economies using open-source tools and collaboration. We intend to use this resource when we acquire land and begin to need this suite of tools!

Food Revolution Network is a global education and advocacy organization dedicated to healthy, sustainable, and ethical food systems. Through online summits, resources, and campaigns, it empowers people to make informed food choices, promote regenerative agriculture, and push for systemic change in how food is grown, distributed, and consumed.

Sustainable Ecovillage Network

We are seeking investors to create a decentralized mesh network that connects regenerative communities, enabling them to share resources, exchange support, and stay resilient even when larger systems fail. Each community hosts its own small, low-power server/router, linking directly with nearby villages to create a self-healing web of connection. This local-first, global-sync model keeps communities communicating, trading, and learning together—while syncing with broader networks like the Global Ecovillage Network for education and visibility. In short, SEVN serves as the digital nervous system for resilient, regenerative living.

Why Now

Elders are aging without integrated, meaningful ways to live in community. Younger generations, even working full time, can’t afford the simple, land-based lives they long for. Meanwhile, family networks that once supported intergenerational living have fractured. The result: isolation, burnout, and land that’s out of reach for the very people who want to care for it.

Kriya House is restoring the village.
We’re creating a model for intergenerational mutual aid where elders contribute wisdom and resources, and younger adults contribute energy and stewardship. Together, we regenerate land, share abundance, and ensure that no one’s home can ever be sold from under them.

Now is the moment to act—before the next generation loses all access to land and before another wave of elders ages in isolation.

Your investment seeds a replicable model of intergenerational living and ecological regeneration:

  • Land held in trust, never for speculation
  • Homes and livelihoods secured for life
  • Education, food production, and wellness services that pay for themselves
